Margot Baird

Margot Baird is an internationally exhibited artist having had solo exhibitions in 4 continents in addition to copious group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Primarily a painter she has also worked extensively in mixed media, printmaking, ceramics, mosaics, sculpture and photography. As well as teaching and lecturing in art Margot has worked professionally as a curator, an interior designer, and an art gallery director. Her artist practice encompasses the narrative element often surveying the footprint left by nature and man as narrated by time, both environmentally and socially, while often depicting landscapes or other subjects symbolically rather than literally. The landscapes are constructed and deconstructed, detail is minimalized. Colour is all important in conveying a sense of time and place.
