Flights of Fancy
Dallas Richardson
November 2023
I work from my studio on the banks of the Tamar River Valley at Legana Tasmania.
It is no wonder therefore that my prints are a reflection of this natural environment.
I see the beauty that surrounds me in the trees, the ever-changing colours in the sky and river, the patterns of the flight of birds. I gain much pleasure watching the birdlife here. Particularly the resident magpies, that are very friendly and as well playful. I have seen them not only playing on the ground but also in flight. Native hens seem to be ubiquitous, always running here and there chasing each other. Occasionally I see the magnificence of one of our local Goshawks as it takes flight.
All that is associated with bird life and the natural environment, interests me.
I watch this vista as the seasons change these patterns and am forever inspired to express it .
I hope you gain as much pleasure seeing my prints of this environment as I do in making them
I have been a practising printmaker over a number of years having had solo exhibitions and been in numerous group shows.
